The Late Brake Show - Jonny Smith visits electric car conversion specialists Zero EV to test their MX-5 NB converted to electric power. This car features a 80kW/120bhp Hyper 9 motor, to a 1.8:1 reduction gearbox, to the standard rear differential. The 100V 26kWh battery pack gives it a range of around 100 to 120 miles. It retains a near 50:50 weight distribution and weighs in at 1070Kg (original car was 980Kg). The boot is left untouched.
