Bodywork, Styling & Aerodynamics

The plan is to give the OSSEV® a modern take on the classic two-seater sportscar but, it is going to feature beautiful curves. The aim is for a more aggressive look than the MX-5, with wider wheel arches and more obvious rear 'haunches'. Because the OSSEV® is designed to be fully electric from the outset, the packaging and interior can be optimised around this. It will have a lot more usable interior space than a typical converted ICE vehicle.

The bodywork will be modular and bolted on using stainless-steel fixings. This means it is easy to remove for easier repair or replacement.

Most of the bodywork will be composite, leaving the option for modified panels or even carbon-fibre panels to be swapped in if required.

Because of the relatively low top speed, the OSSEV® will not feature huge aerodynamic enhancements, allowing the focus to be more on a car that is aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

Colours

As a self-build EV, the NOT DEFINED could be any colour you want it to be. It will also be possible to use different colours for some aspects of the bodywork such as wing mirrors, roll bar cover, roof panels and the front and rear diffusers.

We know it is corny to paint an EV in green but this is our preferred colour scheme for the first OSSEV® prototype and will also be used for the MX-5e.
